Messed around and waited till the last day to look for a generator before Irene. No place around had generator had them except Noland. So we went there and they had 5kw gens for $882 - no returns. It's no surprise that they would price gouge leading into the hurricane, but don't lie about it. The little weasly guy at the counter told me straight to my face, when asked it they did military discounts, "We don't offer a discount, we're asking the same set price as Lowes and everyone else in order to keep it fair. We were really lucky to be able to get this shipment in." Sounded reasonable enough.... till I got home and started unpacking it. There was a Lowe's helpline sticker on the gas tank and another Lowes sticker in the owners manual. Plus I was a little suspect of an $882 5kw gen that didn't even have electric start. So I looked at the Lowes website and I found the exact same generator for $649. Like I said, price gouging is expected... but don't lie to me about it. I hope these aren't the poor, dishonest business practices that everyone has to deal with from there. I'll never go back.
